Christchurch Priory

Nestled at the end of Christchurch’s pretty high street is the ancient site of Christchurch Priory which has had a church on the site since around 1100AD.

The Priory has a rich history and building originally commenced around 1094 with various additions and resotrations being made over the centuries and in it’s history has had many uses even being used as the local school during the 1800′s.


The Priory is at the center of the community and is often used for weddings and coral recitals.

On a sunny day try taking a walk from the Priory to the old castle ruins and then back down Christchurh’s pretty parade of shops.
