Worth Matravers – in the heart of Purbeck

Worth Matravers is a pretty Dorset Village in the heart of Purbeck. An ideal start for walks with either the village of Corfe Castle out to the north or further south the short walk to the sea and pretty spots such as Chapmans Pool and its rocky beaches.
Worth Matravers
With its traditions of quarrying and fishing still visible today (note the names of some of the houses as you amble through the village.) The village is neatly laid out with a small duck pond at the center surrounded by pretty stone houses

At the center of the village is the well known pub the Square and Compass (which has been in the same family for over 100 years) – with it’s own stone carving museum. With the combination of real ales and stunning views across the village and on to the sea – there’s not many a spot in Dorset that can quite equal this on a summers evening.
