Brewers quay Weymouth shopping arcade

Situated a stones throw from the quayside at Weymouth – Brewers quay offers a rather unique shopping experience in this quaint seaside resort.

The site is a redeveloped Victorian brewery and from the moment you set foot in the store it’s something different. Inside its arranged like a town street with each of the shops (split onto two levels) set out along the walkway. The walls are adorned with a variety of pub-esque signs and sailing ornaments.

The shops are of the specialist variety with a variety of homeware, jewelry and arts and crafts stores. There’s also an art center for the kids and a science discovery store which provides an interactive exhibit about the world we live.

Something that sets Brewers quay aside from many retail outlets is that it boasts it’s own heritage center and museum which let’s you experience the sights, sounds and smells, of six hundred years of Weymouth’s history. This is coupled upstairs with a revealing look at the recent history of Weymouth and it’s explosion as a tourist attraction from the mid 1800′s. This makes it a nice rainy day attraction for both kids and adults alike.
